Hello! Hope you’re okay! Today’s blog post is all about how to have a successful gym session! I’ve started going to the gym twice a week now and I always try to follow these tips to maximise my gym sessions. Check out My Gym Routine blog post if you want to see what workouts I do at the gym. I hope you like this post and comment your gym tips!

Work Out Different Parts Of Your Body
If you only go to the gym once or twice a week, I would recommend to do different workouts to work different parts of the body (legs, arms, abs) during your gym session because it makes your whole body fitter and stronger! Some people only do one part of the body per gym session (if it works for you, you should do it) but I would only do that if I went to the gym more than two times a week because I wouldn’t have enough gym sessions to do all the different body exercises!
Find A Right Amount Of Time For Each Exercise
You shouldn’t spend an equal amount of time for each exercise unless you’re only doing one or two machines! What I like to do is 20 minutes on the treadmill because I’m trying to improve my running, 15 minutes on the elliptical because it’s another good cardio workout. Then 5-10 minutes on the weight machines and exercise bike because my main goal from the gym is to do mostly cardio (but it’s completely up to you what your goal is and how much time you spend on each exercise)!
This is individual to each person but you can either set goals for each machine (e.g. a certain distance or time) or you can set overall goals for your gym session (e.g. exercise for a total time of 1 hour). Setting goals helps to motivate you and even if you don’t achieve them, you can always try again next gym session!
Start Slowly & Work Your Way Up
Try and do a warm up before you properly start your gym session such as walking on a treadmill or a slow cycle. This will help you to get your body moving and ready for intense workouts! This also applies to weights as pick a weight suitable to the level you are at and try to progress to heavier weights over a period of time.
