How To Get Out Of A Fitness Slump

Hello! Hope you’re okay! Today’s blog post is about how to get out of a fitness slump! It can be hard to get back into exercising after Christmas and New Year but I’ve put together some tips that have helped me to start exercising again! Schedule At Least One Form Of Exercise Per Week

This could be a gym session, swimming session or fitness class. Just doing one form of exercise a week for the first few weeks is way better than doing nothing! I feel like I’m more motivated to workout if I have booked a gym session for later in the day/week because then I can prepare for it!

Do Some Light Exercise To Start With

It’s easier to restart or begin a new fitness routine if you start off with something light like a walk, jog or cycle because you can build up your exercise! Also, it gets your body used to exercise after a long period of rest! I’ve been trying to go on walks to regain my fitness before I start going on runs or the gym again!

Make Fitness Goals

Making goals motivates yourself to do exercise and achieve these goals! You can make weekly or monthly goals for exercise based on how much exercise you are doing per week! It’s not always about how big or small the goals are but how you are going to achieve them!

Try At Home Workouts

If you are struggling to fit exercise into your weekly routine, why not try at home workouts! They can range from 10-30 minutes and you don’t even need to leave the house! I like doing at home workouts on YouTube because there’s lots of different levels and themes to choose from!

Exercise With Friends Or Family

Exercising with someone else means you can help motivate each other and it’s more fun! If you don’t want to exercise with friends or family, you could join a fitness class and exercise with a group of people!

  1. Scheduling a work out is an amazing idea! For me, I started going at the same time everyday. 5pm hit and I would put my workout clothes on and drive to the gym. It’s become a habit going at the same time which makes it a lot easier! Great post 😊
