Hello! Hope you’re okay! Today’s blog post is all about my favourite musical movies! I am a big fan of musicals and this post is all about my top 5 (plus some honorable mentions at the end!) I definitely want to watch more musicals in the future whether it will be musical movies or in the west end because they are so good! I hope you like this post and comment what your favourite musical movies are!

Mamma Mia
I love both of the Mamma Mia films and I definitely want to watch them again soon! They are such feel good movies and the songs are incredible! I really like the different storylines within the movies and the characters are great!

The Greatest Showman
This is a great musical! I never get bored of it and I actually went to see this in cinemas twice because it was that good! The songs are really good and I listen to the soundtrack a lot! I love the message behind the movie and the storyline is very interesting!
Favourite songs: The Other Side, Rewrite The Stars & Tightrope
Hairspray
I’ve only watched this musical movie once but I loved it! I mentioned it in my February Favorites and I need to rewatch it again soon! The storyline is great and the songs are so good along with the choreography!
Favourite songs: It Takes Two, The Nicest Kids In Town & You Can’t Stop The Beat
High School Musical
I grew up watching these films (I have watched them so many times) and I still love them now! The songs are really good and the films are just iconic! My favourite movie is High School Musical 3 but they are all amazing!
Favourite songs: You Are The Music In Me, We’re All In This Together & Right Here, Right Now
Hamilton
I need to watch this again soon! I watched it for the first time last year (you can read my Hamilton Review which was posted this time last year for my full review) and I really enjoyed it! This is more of a Broadway musical filmed than an actual musical movie but I still love it and that’s why I have included it in this post!

I know and love the first 3 movies but not the last two. My favourite is Mamma Mia, the men were hilariously and heroically bad at singing! 😂 x

I love musical films! The Greatest showman has such a phenomenal soundtrack and I adore Mama Mia. One of my ultimate favourites though is Hairspray. I’ve yet to see Hamiltion, it’s been on my watch list for a while. Will have to give it a go.

I love The Greatest Showman too. All the songs and the storyline was great. My favourite songs are The Greatest Showman, Never Enough, This Is Me, Rewrite The Stars and From Now On. I’m also high school musical fan too.

I’ve seen a number of those and I love them! One of my all-time favourites is Guys And Dolls with Marlon Brando (I also love the actual musical theatre version which I saw a number of years ago). Thanks for this list, I’ve got a few I can check out!

I’ve actually only seen Hairspray out of these and I love it! I’m not huge on musical movies but there’s a few I like. I really want to watch Mamma Mia – can’t believe I haven’t yet!

Oohh, you’ve mentioned some great movies! I’m a huge fan of musicals too and Mamma Mia will always be my favorite. I also love Pitch Perfect, Moulin Rouge and Dreamgirls. I still need to watch Hamilton. Thanks for sharing!

Oh YES, musical movies are amazing! The tunes are often so uplifting and happy and I love watching the characters interact with the notes and message to create an even more powerful theme. I am not as familiar with many of the films on your list, but it made me smile to see La La Land here!
