1 Year Of Lifestyle Season

Hello! Hope you’re okay! Today’s post is about my blog’s 1st birthday! A year ago today (May 6), I created/designed my blog and a year ago tomorrow, I published my blog and my first blog post which I can’t believe and I will definitely be celebrating this today or tomorrow! I’m going to be looking back at my favourite blog posts and giving some advice about blogging that I’ve learned in my year of blogging in this special post! I hope you like this post and comment how long you’ve been blogging (if you’re a blogger)!

First of all, I want to say a huge thank you to all of my readers! Whether you’ve been here since the beginning (please let me know in the comments as I would love to know) or you discovered my blog recently, I really appreciate all of your support. The love I’ve received on my blog in the past year was been incredible!

The Beginning Of My Blog

I started my blog last year in lockdown because I had little to do and I wanted to try something new that would help me in various parts of my life! I originally had no idea what I wanted to call my blog so I spent ages getting inspiration online and coming up with ideas! I chose Lifestyle Season because lifestyle is my main niche and then season reminds me of changing and evolving which I love!

My Favourite Blog Posts

It was honestly so hard to pick my top 3 blog posts out of over 100 posts but here are 3 that I love at the moment!

Fashion Wishlist – If you didn’t already know, this is a series that I do every season on my blog where I share my favourite seasonal clothing items. My first Fashion Wishlist blog post is one of the most popular blog posts on my blog to date and it was published back in June! I love doing this series because I love online shopping for new clothes and this is a really interesting way of doing it!

I Listened To A New Song Every Day For A Month – this is a recent post that I love! Not only did I enjoy listening to all the new songs, I also really liked writing about them! It was really nice to see in the comments that lots of people saw a song or an album in this post that they loved as well. Look out for part 2 this Thursday!

Lifestyle Season – My Blogging Year – this post is actually quite similar to this post but in less detail and only focusing on May – December 2020. If you want to see some of my 2020 blogging achievements and more of my favourite blog posts, make sure to check out that post! I love this post because it’s nice to look back on and see what my first 7 months of blogging was like!

Things I’ve Learned About Blogging In A Year

Blogging Isn’t As Easy As You May Think

I underestimated how time consuming blogging would be when I first started my blog. My first realization of this was when I designed my website on WordPress. Even using a template, it took a lot of time and effort but I loved doing it and I love blogging! This is definitely not to put anyone off starting a blog, just make sure you have enough spare time to do everything! Most people (even myself to begin with) think blogging is just writing a blog post and that’s it. There’s so much more than that, you need to do things like promoting blog posts on social media, reading and replying to comments, taking/editing photos and loads more!

Engage With Other Blogs/Bloggers

This is something I didn’t really know at the beginning but it is a game changer. Not only is it nice to engage with other blogs (it will definitely make a difference to the blogger), it will also help your blog as they might come and check out your blog in return! I love reading other blogger’s posts because they are so useful and interesting!

Be Yourself In Your Writing

I remember in my first few blog posts (especially my Introduction blog post), I was really overthinking my tone of writing. I was trying to sound more formal but that’s not how I speak so I wasn’t reflecting myself in my writing. That’s why I’ve kept my intro post on my blog because it shows my change in confidence blogging and writing. Always be yourself in your writing for your blog because it’s your blog and it would so hard to keep up a different style of writing.

The Journey So Far

I’m really proud of myself that I’ve consistently posted twice a week for a year and I hope to continue that this year! I definitely didn’t expect for my blog to grow this much in a year so thank you again! It makes me so happy reading all of your lovely comments on my blog posts and I love interacting on social media! I can’t believe that people from all around the world read my blog as well!

I can’t wait to see what this year brings for my blog! Look out for updated blog posts and a mini blog make over soon!
